How many boxes do I need for my move?

Accepted Answer

As a rough starting point: studio or 1-bed flat — 10–15 boxes; 2-bed house or apartment — about 20 boxes; 3-bed house (standard) — about 30 boxes; 4-bed+ house (large) — 40–50 boxes. Every home is different, so treat this as a starting point — you can adjust your box count any time before you book.

Question 2

How much do PackMate boxes cost?

Each box is €1 per week, with a minimum rental of 1 week. A one-off fee of €80 covers both delivery and collection, however many boxes you rent.

Do you move my packed boxes for me?

Accepted Answer

By default, moving the packed boxes between addresses is down to you or your removals company. That's what keeps our pricing simple and predictable. If you'd rather PackMate handle it, choose that option in the quote calculator and we'll follow up with a custom (POA) transport quote based on your exact box count.

How soon can I get my boxes?

Our instant quote gives you a price straight away, but delivery itself needs a few days' notice to schedule, so it's worth booking as soon as your move date is set rather than waiting until the last minute.

What areas do you deliver to?

We currently serve Dublin, Meath & Louth. Enter your Eircode on the quote page and we'll confirm instantly whether we cover your address.

Question 6

Can you collect from a different address to where you delivered?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your collection address doesn't have to match your delivery address. Many customers get boxes dropped off at their old place and collected, once emptied, from the new one. The only requirement is that both addresses fall within our service area.

Question 7

How big are the boxes?

Accepted Answer

Every PackMate box is a standard 80-litre removal crate. External dimensions are 710 x 460 x 368mm (L x W x H), with internal dimensions of 597 x 374 x 330mm. They're sturdy enough to stack safely and sized to fit through a standard doorway.

Question 8

What happens if I need the boxes for longer?

Accepted Answer

No problem. Just let us know before your rental ends and we'll extend it week by week at the same rate. There's no penalty for keeping them a little longer.

Question 9

Can I cancel or end my rental early?

Accepted Answer

You can end your rental any time after the 1-week minimum. Just book a collection once your boxes are empty and we'll come get them. There's no long-term contract.

Are the boxes secure and weatherproof?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every box locks shut and is built from durable, weather-resistant material, so your belongings stay protected whether they're sitting in a hallway or a garage.
